and using one of the following (or a 100% compatible) chipsets which supports the desired
resolution:
VESA standard*
ATI
Cirrus Logic
Compaq Q-Vision
Paradise/Western Digital
S3
Trident
Tseng ET3000/ET4000
Weitek
Video Seven
XGA
Note: Some newer video cards have been designed primarily for operation
with Microsoft Windows and provide little support for DOS-based software like NeoPaint.
Some of these newer video cards may not allow NeoPaint to run in higher resolutions.
* NeoPaint has the ability to use VESA compatible video cards. Some older video
cards which claim VESA compatibility substitute very slow software TSR drivers (in place
of internal VESA compatibility) to force the card to mimic VESA.
Check out NeoPaint for Windows to take
advantage of newer video cards.

Press Clippings
Here's what the press are saying about NeoPaint:
PC Answers:
"One of the best painting programs available for the PC is
NeoPaint ... If you're a budding computer artist, or just fed up by the limitations of
Windows Paintbrush, NeoPaint is a must."
MicroTimes:
"You'll find the same drawing and coloring tools here that
would cost hundreds of dollars in a commercial PC package ... The toolbars and menus have
an aesthetic Mac-like layout that makes the editing process intuitive. I've struggled with
Mac packages like PhotoShop and Studio 8, delving through reams of documentation and
nested menus in order to find out how to do the same things that NeoPaint does fairly
intuitively."
PC Plus:
"At last! A paint package that will take care of all your
professional needs. It is so good that we now use it for all our drawing and image
manipulation for the artwork you see in this section of the magazine ... It has more
facilities than the package we used to use and costs a fraction of the price."
PC Novice:
"One of the most impressive DOS-based painting programs
available, and one of the easiest to use. It contains many strong artistic features, while
its interface gives you the ease of use generally found only in the best Windows
programs."
Multimedia World:
"For the truly budget-conscious, NeoSoft offers a 24-bit
color image editor ... NeoPaint 3.0 provides a paint tool that emulates an oil or
watercolor brush, single-degree increment rotations, three-dimensional extrusions, and
color replacement effects. NeoPaint also works with gradients, imports text, and works
with special effects filters."
Computer Shopper:
"NeoPaint has such a versatile set of gradient tools, not
even PhotoShop can match them ... A 24-bit image editor, NeoPaint is a surprisingly
full-bodied application ... We found NeoPaint exceptionally easy to use and relatively
speedy."
CD-ROM Today:
"One of the finest DOS paint packages around, NeoPaint is
a superb program."
DOS World:
"This DOS-based artistic wonder paints, edits graphics,
and even lets you produce audiovisual presentations that'll knock the socks off your
clients, colleagues, or students."
Australian Personal Computer:
"NeoPaint and NeoShow are a joy to use - fast and
efficient, with a host of tools, that outdo many larger programs on the market today. In
short: Very impressive. Brilliant design. Easy to use. Excellent GUI interface, without
the need for Windows."
