|
|
I loaded Neopaint for Dos on my computer and haven't been able to switch to 256 colors. when I try to switch, it caused the computer to reboot.
When I use Neopaint for Windows, there's no problem, but I prefer to use the Dos version.
I haven't had this problem in previous computers. My present computer has Windows XP Professional. |

From the NeoPaint for DOS tech support archives:
Most newer video cards are designed primarily for use with Windows and provide little support for older DOS-based programs like NeoPaint. If your video card is VESA compatible, you may be able to access additional video modes by using the command line option below:
NEOPAINT /C7,-1,2048
Replace the 2048 with the amount of memory on your video card if different. _________________ NeoSoft Support |

It's difficult to tell what the right setting would be based on your PC's specs. Did you try "NEOPAINT /C7,-1,2048"?
If that doesn't work, it may be that your video card doesn't include support for the old DOS video modes. Unfortunately, that's quite common since hardly anyone uses DOS apps anymore. _________________ NeoSoft Support |
