About NeoBookDX

Postby StarterPack » Thu Nov 24, 2016 7:25 am

Hi guys, i want to learn more about NeobookDX dxSetRate plugin before i buy it. What i want to know.
Can i use the plugin to set the tempo of a .wav file in my project without having to use a third party media player.
I really want to use it so if any one can help with suggestions it will be greatfull.

I've tested the unregistered version but it keeps saying: Invalid player ID:
What i want to do, is to load a .wav file in a TextEntry with command
PlaySoundFile "[Beat]" "Loop"
and then set the tempo with another button
dxSetRate "[Beat]" "[Tempo]"

Thank You

StarterPack:

PlaySoundFile "[Beat]" "Loop"
and then set the tempo with another button
dxSetRate "[Beat]" "[Tempo]"

PlaySoundFile is not a NeobookDX command ... so you can NOT apply dxBlahBlahBlah commands to files played with the base NeoBook commands.

Take a look in the Help file about using the following commands ...
Code: Select all
dxCreate "rectangle" "player id variable" ""
dxSetRate "player id" "rate"
dxOpenFile "player id" “file name”

First, try it with hard coded parameters for Filename and Rate ... once you understand how things work, you can replace them with appropriate variables.

Hi Gaev

Thank You So Much...
I've tested it but it not only changes the tempo, it aslo chsnges the pitch. I want to use a Drum beat sample in loop and when i change the tempo it must play the beat slower or faster, but now it also changes the pitch of the drum beat. So this will not work for me at all.

Hi, StarterPack!

You can try VLC plugin.
Action: zmVlcPlayerSet "PlayerName" "PlayRate" "Value" (values from 10 to 1000, 100 = normal playback)
But you wiil need already installed VLC-player or use stand alone VLC libraries (at its discretion)
Please note: you can use 32-bit VLC ONLY!

I'm sorry, but at present time is no english help file for this plugin
It's seems a strange, for developers write help file more difficult than to write the programm itself, even on native language, not to mention the foreign.
I'll try to write english help file, but it take a time
Now you can ask me questions (if any) on this forum.
All are almost like NeobookDX

OOOPs!
Just found one strange bug in plugin on installed VLC version above 2.2.0 (it's a latest VLC ver for developing and tests the plugin).
It's not real bug of the plugin, and it's problem of VLC(>2.2.0) + Windows XP.
Anyway I must found the problem and try to fix it .
Sorry....

Plugin had been written about 3 yars ago.

Oh, VLC!!!
I was worn out with him!
