Monthly report

Postby Harakiri » Sat Aug 03, 2013 11:26 pm

Im trying to figure out a simple way to generate a report (eg. sales, stock, in, out) that the user can select to be monthly, or every week... Does anybody has a way to work this sort of functionality?

Greetings.

Typically, you would create the report containing all of the fields you want using DBPro's Report Designer. Then before printing the report, use dbpQuery to find only the records that fall within the desired date range (week, month, etc.). The printed report will contain only the records found by the query.

That's the way I do it with same report but different subsets.

For some of my apps I filter (query) between two dates so I can do a report daily, weekly, monthly, yearly or anywhere between like weekend.

This is not working for me...

Lets say I have a list of dates in a DateTime tipe of field on my Access database...

Code: Select all
2013-09-01
2013-09-03
2013-09-04
2013-09-15
2013-09-18
2013-09-20

And I just want to display between 2013-09-03 and 2013-09-15

I use dbpQuery

Date BETWEEN #[from]# AND #[til]#

As result it wipes all of the information displayed on the grid.

Try formatting the dates in your query differently. Internally, Access may be storing the dates internally in US format (MM/DD/YYYY).

As result it wipes all of the information displayed on the grid.

This simply means that no data matched the search criteria. You can restore the full table using dbpShowAll.

I can confirm this ... happened to me many years ago.

I see the dates being stored in the db separated with dashes... In any case I decided to go with a diferent way of sorting since I had no time to look deeper into it.

Hi Neosoft Team, Neobukers,
If the search finds only 11 of 50 records, How can I show only this 11 records in the report? Any way?

Many thanks in advanced to all ;)

Maybe I don't understand your question, but assuming that your report is designed correctly, you would do something like this:

dbpQuery...
dbpPrintReport...
