I rectify : it works, but the problem with the Hint events is the same.
Hint events are not displayed, even without Timer.

The solution is a real audio bargraph (VST or ActiveX) that gives real information on the volume.
Everything else is of tampering...

Hello,

UltraVox wrote:David, I agree with that. But you do not understand.

The Play button has two actions :
1/ Playing Music
2/ Start Timer

The Timer contains a mathematical calculated that determines the position of the progressbar, depending on the Sound Level of the music. This timer is the only object capable of reproducing a mathematical calculated every 50 ms. It is through this mathematical calculates that the progressbar is able to dance to the music. It's not me who decided. If it was me, I will integrate a Real Audio Bargraph rather than anything else. Unfortunately, NeoBook can not do...

Seek and you will see that nobody here has never been a simple MP3 player equipped with an audio bargraph that is not a progressbar with Timer action.

Well. It's another thing that probably I unknow from scratch: what a "Real Audio Bargraph" can be. And how this must be "connected" with the appropiate "audio source" or something like that.

A bargraph is a audio Vu Meter or Level Meter.
NeoSoft offers NeoBookDX I bought long ago.
I also have the following plugins : ChromeAudio and tmAdvancedAudio (VST integration).

Here is a picture of mixer with Level Meters on each Track :
http://www.lazytechguys.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/PeakStudioMixer.png
This is exactly what I built.

The truth is that there is nothing insurmountable. The problem is that NeoBook supports audio like a Spanish cow
You almost teach him everything and that's why I expect a development in this area...

We must realize that NeoBook is now able to manage VST technology : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_Studio_Technology

As a result, there are many potential customers who dream of creating a VST application within a VST Host (NeoBook). Except that, if we choose to do nothing, these millions of potential users never choose NeoBook as VST Host. The VST technology clearly opens a door and you have to fight for it never closes.

This is my feeling. I fight to make that happen as soon as possible.

I needed VST and I got it.
I needed Knob and I also received.
I work with a developer in this forum for an ASIO compatible application : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASIO4ALL

All this to help NeoBook become an acceptable VST Host.

How many people would be interested in paying for an upgrade to NeoBookDX that included a VU/Level Meter? How much would you be willing to pay?

If we can get enough people interested then maybe we can take another look at it.

Thank you Dave...

Are you sure that this section of the forum is the appropriate read for a NeoBookDX Update Survey ? I'm afraid that the subject goes unnoticed...

Personally, I can invest up to 300 Euros for this integration, under the following conditions :

- The VU Meter can be integrated into a Multi-Track Stereo Mixer designed with NeoBookDX, not only on the Master. If I make a mixer 15 tracks, there will be 16 stereo VU Meter (15 stereo Tracks + 1 Master).

- Each VU Meter is fully configurable (height, width, choice of multi-color, mono, stereo, vertical, horizontal, etc..) To better integrate all kinds of applications. The simple MP3 Player to the Big Mixer Studio.

I can also invest more if you give me time ! It does not mind paying a little every month to help development.
If there are not enough people who are mobilizing, So we can also do it differently...

Sincerely,
UltraVox

I downloaded, but I do not work.
Just two strips of blue and black. Or one blue.
When you close the music continues to play and pop up errors one by one.

Hi David
I tried your test.exe and it downloaded and unpacked for me, the exe runs no problem and the load/play mp3 function works ok for me but the audio graph did not work for me! I am on win 7 x64! and i have tried it with several mics and line feeds, several audio interfaces + relevant drivers and also through an audigy pro and onboard 3d audio -Realtek® ALC892 8-Channel High Definition Audio

I hope you can get this to work as it is an area that is sadly lacking in neobook! I mean the audio section! (It would be great to see full ASIO, WASAPI, Jack, DirectSound driver support built right in to neobook or even a plugin for neobook)

Here i have created a small app that demonstrates some other types of spectrum analyzers using different mathematical methods! the exe uses a bit of ruby so i have included a version of the interpreter, i am not sure if it is needed on other folks systems! if it is needed then just place it in a folder with the exe then run the exe!
it also loads mp3
