Hello,

For what can be useful the new "[ScreenBits]" variable? Read this thread by Hans Peter:

Thank's for a new update.
A question... these patches are cumulative?
I mean, if I'm installing from scratch, do I have to install all patches from v5.6.2 or install the latest available is enough?

Greetings.

P.S. (The new Splash Screen is awesome!)

The most recent patch contains everything you need. It is not necessary to install all the patched you missed. You can install the v5.8.3 patch alone to upgrade from v5.6.2.

I'm having problems with this:

SetVar "[MailServer]" "MyServer"

The result is that [MailServer] = nothing.

No problems with the others Mail variables. Checked on 2 different PCs. I'm going to check with other NeoBook updates to verify if the problem is only located on 5.8.3.

I only can confirm the same problem here using NeoBook 5.8.3 in Windows 8. The variable "[MailServer]" don't appear in the debugger (maybe can be used anyway?) after been set. ;)

Thank's for the info David.

I've tried this variable on v5.6.2, v5.6.4a, v5.7.0, v5.7.1, v5.8.0, v5.8.1, v5.8.2 and v5.8.3. The problem is the same, don't appear in the debugger. No idea if can be used anyway, I must check that.
I remember sending emails without problems on some tests some time ago using my own server, and I'm pretty sure I used this variable.

Following the Neobook Help, the [MailServer] variable is a Read/Write variable.

The problem is that in the program I'm doing right now, I need to save the data needed to send an email to the user. This data is stored encrypted, but that variable contains nothing to encrypt...

Still checking.

Ok, this program works perfect...
Code: [ Download ] [ Hide ]
  1. SetVar "[MailServer]" "smtp.ficticious.es"
  2. SetVar "[MailPort]" "XX"
  3. SetVar "[MailUserID]" "MyUser"
  4. SetVar "[MailUserPassword]" "MyPassword"
  5. SendMail "from@icemansoft.es" "to@icemansoft.es" "Email From NeoBook" "Text" "" "HideProgress"

So, it seems that the [MailServer] variable contains data, but it doesn't appear in the debugger.

Again... Thank's David for the idea.

On a side note i don't think the ClearVariables command will clear the Read/Write globals either, they're kinda in there "own world"
