When using this plug-in on windows7 to get the thumbnail for the sample video file, (that comes with windows 7), located public sample videos folder named wildlife.wmv the thumbnail gets created upside down.
Can you please look into this?

Just to say that it is happening quite often now where the thumbnail is upside down for many different thumbnails. It does seem somewhat sporadic though.
Just a little more information that this is happening in a windows 7 64 bit environment

I use Windows 7 32bit whit Nvidia Gforce 9600GT.
Perhaps this comes from the CODEC or DRIVER?

So sometimes the thumbnail is right side up and sometimes it's upside down?
Are all of the files WMV or does it happen with other formats?
Are the thumbnails also upside down in Windows Explorer?
Do the upside down videos play right side up in Windows Media Player?
Have you installed any new video codecs recently?

I tested this problem extensively and this is what I have found.
On a clean right out-of-the-box Windows 7 64-bit HP computer the plug-in does not work. The thumbnail is created upside down. Nothing was installed on this computer, it was taken right out of the box, and the first thing that was done was testing this plug-in.
I also tested the plug-in on a Windows 7 32 bit computer that has been in use. It also turned the thumbnail upside down.
The only environment that I found working was the XP environment that I started out with.
I tested JPEG as well as PNG and both of them were turned upside down.
The thumbnails display properly in windows explorer.
Originally, when I said that it's sporadic, I must've meant and seen that in the XP environment the works and the others it does not.
I would appreciate your help in this matter. It is important to me.

Does it make any difference if you save the thumbnails in png or bmp format?
What's the physical size of the thumbnails you're creating?
Do the thumbnails display correctly in the FM/FTP file list? (For example if you run the sample File Manager pub and choose "Thumbnails" from the View menu.)

You might expect that a bitmap would be stored in memory so that the top row of the image appeared at the beginning, followed by the next row, and so on. However, Windows can store bitmaps as either top-down or bottom-up. In a bottom-up bitmap, the image data starts with the bottom row of pixels, followed by the next row up, and so on. The top row of the image is actually the last row.
The problem encountered by users here was that BMP thumbnails were not being saved with the correct header under Windows 7. The header indicated that the bitmap was top-down when it should have been bottom-up (a Delphi bug) causing it to display upside-down.

another form of this problem has reared its ugly head.
With the latest patch applied v1.2a, I have found that thumbnails fail in windows xp when creating png thumbnail files. It works for creating bmp or jpg thumbnail files.
This is true whether the source is jpg, png or bmp.
