NeoBook 5.7.1 Update Released

Postby Neosoft Support » Fri Jun 03, 2011 11:24 am

NeoSoft Corp. has released NeoBook version 5.7.1.

The version 5.7.1 upgrade patch can be downloaded from the following website:

http://www.neosoftware.com/patch.html

Follow the instructions to download and apply the update patch.

NOTE: If you registered NeoBook 5 before February 1st 2008 then you will need to purchase a new registration code in order to use version 5.6 or higher. If you purchased NeoBook 5 after February 1st 2008, then this upgrade is free. Registered users of NeoBook 5.0 through 5.5.4 can purchase a new registration code for $25.

This update contains the following:

Fixes

 Snapped objects from the master page and the current active page are now aligned correctly on-screen.

 Corrected a problem that caused some full screen applications to appear as a black screen when run under Windows XP. Other versions of Windows were not affected.

 The Math action no longer attempts to remove thousands separators (as defined in the Windows Control Panel) before performing calculations. This feature was added to v5.7.0, but caused problems when applications were shared between PCs with different regional settings.

 And several other minor fixes.

Hi..

Code: Select all
The Math action no longer attempts to remove thousands separators (as defined in the Windows Control Panel) before performing calculations. This feature was added to v5.7.0, but caused problems when applications were shared between PCs with different regional settings.

You know you could add a tick as option if you want to use it or not. Now i have problem. But who cares.. Thanks a lot..

Smartmedia,

You can solve the problem with this simple function:

Code: Select all
{NeoBook Function}
Version=5.70
Language=NeoBook
Param=[%1]|Text|Mathematical equation
Param=[%2]|Number|Decimal places
Param=[%3]|Variable|Variable to store result
{End}
StrReplace "[%1]" "," "" "[%1]" ""
Math "[%1]" "[%2]" "[%3]"

Change the StrReplace line to eliminate your locale's thousands separator. Use this function instead of the built-in Math action whenever you need to work with numbers containing a thousand separator. For example:

Code: Select all
Call "MathEx" "[MyDB.MyTable.Field1]+[MyDB.MyTable.Field2]" "-1" "[Result1]"

Is it possible for neosoft to accept payments using shareit.com? I would like to buy some stuff via WebMoney, paypal doesn't support this option.

I think WebMoney is a competitor to PayPal. I'll see if our shopping cart provider supports WebMoney. In the mean time, our online store also accepts credit cards.

Update: WebMoney is not currently supported by our shopping cart provider, but I have asked them to consider adding it in the future.

We actually tried Digital River in the past and ended up with a lot of angry customers because of screwed up orders that we were powerless to correct. I'm sure things have improved since then or they wouldn't be in business. However, there are still some things that ShareIt/Digital River do that are disadvantageous such as fees more twice that of our current system and being paid only once a month.

Gap on page side sinnce updating to 5.7.1

Postby raja » Mon Aug 22, 2011 3:29 am

All my pages are showing a gap all down the left side of each page since updating to 5.7.1 This occurs when modifying and when running the application. It is the image on each page which does not seem to fill the page to the left side. Text on the left side is ok. Can't get my sample image to display!
Any suggestions appreciated

Update: problem can be overcome by moving from page to page and clicking on "Page/Hide Master Page Items" as this causes each image to fully stretch to the left side. This fixes both the design view and running view.

I am running windows xp.

Can you provide us with a sample pub file that demonstrates the problem?
