Less cluttered subroutine editor

Postby Wrangler » Tue Oct 19, 2010 3:20 pm

I've been meaning to post this for quite a while.

When one has a large number of big subroutines, it can be real difficult to know where you are in the editor. There are only two lines that give you a clue: the sub :name and 'return'. The goal then being to edit only the code between those two.

What I'd like to see is that each sub has it's own editor. So when you select a sub from the menu, it opens up an editor with just that sub's code in it. Search and replace becomes easier, and you'll know you're editing the right sub code. Of course, all the features of the current editor would be included in it.

Certainly not an urgent request. But I spend many hours finding my way around, as well as correcting code that shouldn't have been edited the way it is now.
