NeobookDbPro Suggestion

Postby Just4Fun » Mon Jul 19, 2010 4:46 pm

Maybe this isn't a reasonable request, but I'm wondering if it would be possible to have an alert box or some kind of warning pop up when a user enters a reserved word as a cell name? It would sure save some confusion regarding why a table won't open. ;-)

That's a good idea. I'll see what we can do, but each database engine has its own list of reserve words. Sometimes, even different versions of the same engine have different reserve words. It's too bad the databases don't provide better error messages - DBPro just reports what the databases tell it.

The easiest way to avoid conflicts with Reserved Words is to use un-english (a.ka. geeky) words ... like ...

j4Name
xDate
gkStatus
etc.

... and for database and table names ...

CustomerDetails
CountryList
curPayables

Of course, if your primary language is other than English ... problem solved !!!
