Using textfile from server

Postby cp4w » Sat Sep 01, 2007 11:18 am

I need to use a text file, having multiple lines, from my university's server. Both "InternetGet" and "DownloadFile" concatenate the lines--the latter seems to have a delimiter (looks like a rectangle). I need to have the lines separated to be able to count # of lines. I don't know how to parse into separate lines the variable (or file) holding the text. Might it be desirable to insert my own delimter between lines? Thanks for any help.

Where do you see the rectangle?

When it is a unix server the text may have only [#10] = LF for line-ending.
The you may have to replace it by [#13][#10] = CRLF.

Open your data in a good editor and look at the line-end-byte.

Thanks. The rectangle I mentioned seems to be a symbol for [#13]. How can I replace that symbol with a line-feed, [#10]? For example, in a search and replace what do I search for?

Code: Select all
StrReplace "[YouContent]" "[#13]" "[#13][#10]" "[YourResult]"
