Erratic behavior

Postby carlos torres » Mon Jul 23, 2007 3:06 pm

Hi Dear NeoSoft Support

Working with your dbp I tried to create a new table
Code: Select all
dbpTableExists "DbLst" "Works" "[bExist]"
If "[bExist]" "=" "False"
.SetVar "[strSQL]" "CREATE TABLE WORKS (CodeWrk AutoInc)"
   .dbpExecSQL "DbLst" "[strSQL]" ""
dbpCreateTable "DbLst" "Works" "CodeWrk AutoInc;Work String(255);WrkDate Date"
Else
    dbpOpenTable "DbLst" "Works" ""
EndIf

In both cases I got a Sintax error message... I can't understand that behavior

What i'm doing wrong?

Second: Why i need to open a table in order to drop it?

I will appreciate your help

regards

carlost:

a) You didn't post the code where you connect to the database ... so I can't tell if this is an MS Access database or mySQL etc.

b) MS Access databases don't recognize Date fileds ... just DateTime ... see Help file.

c) You might try and isolate the problem by starting with just one (say 10 byte) string field ... and add more fields until you hit the error again ... that should make it easier to find a solution.
