How can I develope a program that would have the user be able to save their text, example: a diary program etc.?

ejsavick:

See the Help file for FileWrite command ... this enables you to save the contents of any [variable] to a named text file.

You can get the user's entered data into [variables] using the TextEntry object/tool ... although other information can best be selected via the ListBox, CheckBox and Radio Button objects/tools ... all these objects/tools save user's actions in associated [variables].

Later, when you need to get the information back from a file to the relevant objects/tools, you would use the FileRead command.
