This forum's software - Font size when using Private Messagi

Postby Gaev » Mon Apr 28, 2003 6:24 pm

Nothing to do with NeoBook ... this seemed like the most appropriate place to post.

If you have ever sent/received a Private Message using the facilities offered by this forum's software, you must have noticed how small (tiny) the default font size is (I usually copy the text to Notepad just to be able to read it !)

The other day, I tried some experimentation and found that the IkonCode Tags actually work within the message text area (but not within the Message Title) so, placing [ size=4 ] before the text and [ /size ] at the end (no space before/after the brackets !) would make it a lot more readable ; here are some examples

Size=3
Size=4
Size=5
Size=6

Of course, what would be even better is if the default size for this text (inside Private messages) would (could) be set to some value larger than it is now ; perhaps the forum administrator could look into this ?

Yipee ! A solution to the dreaded case of the missing square brackets ...

To get this forum's software to show two consecutive square brackets (opening or closing), type in 3 of them ; e.g. in the line below, the word three was preceeded and followed by 3 square brackets ...

[[[three]]]

... only shows two of them ; when copied and pasted into Notepad, you still get just the two ; so, if people posting code with compound variables can remember to add an extra bracket, others can "lift" the code into NeoBook without worrying about "removing spaces between two consecutive brackets".

For enquiring minds, this is how the forum treats other cases of consecutive brackets (the word tells you how many brackets were entered ...

[one]
[[two]]
[[[three]]]
[[[[four]]]]
[[[[[five]]]]]

... hope everyone starts to use this format !
