router - i need to open a port of the router

Postby copysan » Mon Aug 02, 2004 5:51 am

We have a problem with an application done in internet .pkg, it is the following:

A user in our intranet wants to communicate to the application that is in a web server and does not let him because the router cuts the accesses for different ports.

Would be able to say us what ports does the application use .pkg to get in touch the microsoft internet explorer and the web server?

best regards.

Nerea.

When compiled as a web-based application, NeoBook uses an ActiveX control to display the publication. Internet Explorer handles the downloading (if needed) and execution of the ActiveX control. The ActiveX control then downloads the NeoBook generated pkg file to the local hard drive and executes it.

Ok, but We have got a ROUTER and this ROUTER cut this communication, the file cannot be loaded. Because of it, we need to know with that ports this application works to be able to accede to the router and open it.

Thanks.

I don't know what port Internet Explorer uses, but NeoBook downloads the pkg file using port 80.
