Neobook 5.7 on Ubuntu 11.04

Postby henningvr » Fri May 27, 2011 10:20 am

Long lurker here. Been using NB for 4 yrs. I've been experimenting with NB v.5.7 on Ubuntu Linux v.11.04, running NB on Wine 1.3.20.

So far everything works great. I have the DB, DX, PDF and several other plugins installed. I have not yet done anything database-wise, so I can't say how that'll work at this stage.

Here's a little demo app running in Ubuntu:

Thanks, henningvr. Good information here. Would be curious to know if database driven apps would work. Also things like the web object and the flash player. Keep us posted!

Aaargh.. I upgraded to 11.04 and hated the new layout so much I wiped the GUI version and installed the server version - If NB/Wine functionality has improved significantly in the last few months I may need to take another look... I will foolow this thread with interest though.

Just thought I would share this with fellow NeoBookers. I decided to play around with the newest version of Linux/Ubuntu 14.04 32 bit version with Wine installed and found out the apps I wrote using NeoBook 5.8 seem to work perfectly. The only problem seems to be with the display of some colors for which I have no explanation. I haven't tried to write any new apps using Ubuntu 14.04 yet but Neobook seems to work fine in this environment.

Anyway if anyone has anything to contribute with regard to the colors display I would be very interested in hearing what you have to say.
