let say my button say " OK" on it and i want to change that at Runtime to cancel ... can it be done...

it will be similar to what MMB calls it LoadText action....

Hi Jay,

Just use a variable for the buttons caption .... The variable can be changed whenever you like, e.g. after reading a cfg-file...

when you open an existing button object, or create a new one, an object-windows will open. At the first screen, you can see an edit field, named BUTTON CAPTION. There just tipe in the name of a variable, e.g. [BUTTONTEXT]

that´s it ...

Now I Get it ....

I dind't know that NeoBook would be reading that as a Variable i though it would display Like [MyVar] in the caption instead of the text that the variable is holding ...

Thanks ...

Jay

Hi Jay,

goooooooooood ...... it is also a good way, trying to substitute a direct name or text with a variable at every possibilitie. You also can substitute an image files name inside the image object with a variable, also the filename inside a text-object ............ many many possibilities

The only point I found out, where this will NOT work is in the books properties, section security. It s NOT possible to add a entry/leaving ptush word as variable!!!
