Here is a quick bit of code to make sure Windows Media Player 8 or above is installed on the system.  Useful when used with NeoBookDX and newer WMV files / WM9 codecs.

RegistryRead "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{6BF52A52-394A-11d3-B153-00C04F79FAA6}\Version" "[WMPVer]"
StrParse "[WMPVer]" "," "[WMPVer]" "[WMPVerNum]"

If "[WMPVer1]" ">=" "8"
 AlertBox "Success" "WMP Version [WMPVer1] installed!"
 AlertBox "Warning" "Windows Media Player 8 or above was not detected on your system.|Some media may be unplayable. ||Please visit:||To download and install this free component from Microsoft."

Tested on Win 98/ME/2K/XP
