Set proxy server for internet actions

Postby Tony Kroos » Mon Apr 01, 2013 3:47 am

Preferably as global variables, like [HTTPProxy], [HTTPProxyPort], [HTTPProxyLogin], [HTTPProxyPassword], etc...
it shouldn't alter current system preferences if possible, work for nb internet actions only

I think it's a good idea. When I use programs that require Internet access from my job, every time the program tries to access the Internet, the proxy requests the user name and password. If these variables could avoid that, it would be helpful.
What I can not think, is how you would pass that data to the Proxy...

Greetings.

I don't know how exactly internet actions do their job, but in case of using WinHTTP API there's a SetProxy/SetCredentials methods of IWinHttpRequest interface. But I'm not sure if it's system-wide settings or just for current request (more likely)...
