Normally, when a compiled system tray application is launched, it will automatically appear as an icon in the tray. If you prefer to have your tray application open in a window instead, you can place the following code in the Book Properties Startup Action:

SetVar "[StartInSystemTray]" "False"

Once open, minimizing the window will send it to the system tray. Remove this code to start the publication normally as an icon in the system tray.

Can the icon be changed at runtime?

For example, I would like it to be either a green light, yellow light or red light depending on certain conditions, and it could change as my application is running minimized.

I think I can use something like this:

LoadIcon "C:\Samples\Busy.ico" "TrayIcon"

That's what I'm going to try.
