NeoBook DB composite indexes...

Postby David de Argentina » Mon May 21, 2007 2:42 pm

Hi Dave,

I think there are a good idea add to NeoBookDB plugin capabilities to create composite indexes... like customerid + date

From several process, there is very important option.

Thanks in advance,

I think NeoBookDB has probably reached the limit of what it can do given the limits of the dBase engine. Look for composite indexes in the new database plug-in next month.

Hi Dave,

I did something like this... using old Clipper Summer 87:

INDEX ON STR(CustomerID)+DTOC(date) TO MyIndex.NTX

or

INDEX ON STR(CustomerID)+DTOC(date) TO MyTAG

with Clipper 5.XX with RDD

If this feature was available on Clipper Summer 87, i think it will be possible...

Thanks again,

I don't think it would be impossible to add composite indexes to NeoBookDB, but it would require too much programming time. I think something like composite indexes are more appropriate for the new professional database plug-in.
