dbfQuery Error dialog in another language

Postby WinMacLyn » Tue Feb 06, 2007 7:39 pm

Hi everybody,

Please NeoBook Support, can you tell me how to change the dbfQuery (Error dialog) “No matching record found” in a way to be translated into any other language?

I found the following in the “NeoBookDB Version History” but I can’t make it work!

The dbfQuery action now works with Float fields.
Added dbfSetSortLocale action to manually set the language used when performing sort operations. For example, to set the sort language to Spanish:
dbfSetSortLocale "10"

Thank You.

Hi WinMacLyn,

My suggestion is to create your own Error Dialog. NeoBook is a powerful and friendly system to do this.

Here is the idea:

Code: Select all
  dbfShowErrors "False"
. Do not display error messages

Next, always check for [dbfQueryResult] after using the dbfQuery action, as in:

Code: Select all

  dbfQuery "MyDB" "field == MyValue"

  IfEx "[dbfQueryResult] > 0"

.   We have records to work with
.
.   Actions to do here....

  Else

.   There are no records matching this query it´s time to display
.   my custom Error dialog

AlertBox "Atención" "No hay registros para esta consulta... mala suerte"

  EndIf

HTH,

Thanks a lot beno,

Your posted code resulted more or less the way I thought that was going to be. That’s why I posted this question in this section, to see if Neosoftware is so kind for future major NeoBookDB version can bring to us a faster way to handle error dialogs in other languages since there are not too many of them for the NeoBookDB.
