A Linux compiler option may be considered in the future, but some features (like plug-ins) probably wouldn't work without significant modifications. Unfortunately, not very many companies are able to make a profit selling Linux software since the market is very small and many users are used to getting software for free.

Linux as of this writing is still a kid when it comes to Desktop users. It's mostly used for web, file, ftp, mail serving, it's not a toy to play with. But you will be played by it if you don't how it works. So BEWARE...

WINE? yeah I used it also for testing webpages with MS-IE to allow compatability between browsers. But it's still not as smooth as plain WinOS.

How about expanding NB to support compiling to a Netscape/Firefox plugin? This would give NB the ability to run on Mac OS X and Linux inside the Mozilla engine.

It depends on what features and programming languages the API supports. It's a safe bet that some things, like plug-ins, file i/o, etc., definitely wouldn't be compatible, but we can look into it.

Yes, With neobook 5.6 beta 3 I get this error at 90% times:
Code: Select all

I can read English, but... I write like Tarzan. (sorry)

Latest versions of Wine are really better than before. There's a real speed inscrease.

I've test a Neobook compiled application, i have notice just some problems on few commands. (for exemple, using the Web Navigator and some actions on this)

But i think we can say that a neobook application has 90% chances to run with Wine.
