Maybe a Bug

Postby Skywalker » Fri Dec 24, 2010 10:19 am

Quite often I get an Unable to compile to destination folder.

Cannot create file "C:Users\Frank\My Documents\Projects\Test.exe". Access is Denied

I am running Win7 OS
All updates are new

There is still a thin white boarder when in fullscreen window mode.
Never give up trying. Just try it another way that works for you.

Can you provide any additional information about this error? Is this error new to v5.7 or did it occur with previous versions too? Does it occur with a specific application or all applications? Does it occur when running in test mode from NeoBook or compiling? Does it happen all the time or randomly?

I believe that this is specific to Windows 7, but I will look into it.

I cannot reproduce this here. Do I need to do anything other than place an Animated GIF object on a container and use GIFPlay to start it?

shx, David de Argentina:

I'm not sure there will be time for additional enhancements in this update, but I will see what I can do.

I am using the new update and Animated gif in a container works when I press a button.

I use several in my main program, and it also worked in previous version for me.

It occurs only when in test mode under 5.7Beta.

I tested it under 5.6a with no problems.

The application has a main menu with 4 dropdowns, 2 webbrowser element, 6 buttons, 1 combobox, and 2 textentry elements.

It alwasy exacutes on the first test run without problems. After a few tweaks (move an element or resize a button e.t.c.) the errors start happening repeatedly.

I started a new application idea with 4 buttons and 1 picture element and a main menu using 5.7Beta and no errors have accured at test run time.

The only other problem I have is as in 5.6a. When compiled in fullscreen window there is a 1 pixal vertical and horizontal (left and top) border which I have to use -0 to correct. I know it seems small but really gets to me because I love things that work well and Neobook does just that.

I hope my information is clear and helps with trouble shooting. I truly hope it is just my system and not a glitch with the update.

Happy New Year!

Frank

Hello Frank,

Thanks for the additional information.

If I understand correctly, the access denied error only occurs with one publication. Is that correct?

One thing you might try, is to check your virus scanner and see if it has an option to exclude certain folders from "real time" scanning. What might be happening is that the virus scanner is trying to scan the test exe file before NeoBook has finished creating it. Excluding the pub folder from real time scanning might solve the problem.

The only other problem I have is as in 5.6a. When compiled in fullscreen window there is a 1 pixal vertical and horizontal (left and top) border which I have to use -0 to correct. I know it seems small but really gets to me because I love things that work well and Neobook does just that.

Thank you for pointing this out. We hadn't noticed it here because the line is barely noticeable on our LCD monitors. We will make sure that this is fixed before the final version of 5.7 is released.

Hello NeoSoft!

Thanks for this update :) . Here some remarks tested with this new beta version:

- http://www.neosoftware.com/forum/viewto ... p=11200771
- http://www.neosoftware.com/forum/viewto ... p=11200772

P.S. Maybe could be included the file "NeoBook v5 Version History.rtf" in the final package. Besides the help file, the history also is a good reference for read. What do you think?

Hi, I don't know if this is a bug or a normal behaviour

I'm trying to send a mail with SendMail. This is my code

Code: Select all
SetVar "[MailServer]" "![smtpServer]"
SetVar "[MailPort]" "25"
SetVar "[MailUserID]" "![usermail]"
SetVar "[MailUserPassword]" "[password]"
SendMail "[to]" "[from]" "[subject]" "[body]" "[attachs]" ""
SetVar "[MailServer]" ""
SetVar "[MailPort]" ""
SetVar "[MailUserID]" ""
SetVar "[MailUserPassword]" ""

I get the next error: 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first

But if I change the MailPort to 465 (SSL) the application stay freeze.

In 5.6.4a only works the non SSL port (25)

I let the access to these ports in my firewall

Thanks
