NeoAppBuilder Beta Test (Update 15.8.16)

Postby Neosoft Support » Sun Aug 16, 2015 5:43 pm

An update to the NeoAppBuilder Beta is available for download below:

http://www.neosoftware.com/neoappbuilder.html
(Refresh your browser if you don't see the new version.)

Version 15.8.16 includes the following changes:

 Added Slider and Timer objects.

 RGBA/32-bit colors can now be used for object styles.

 Added OK/Cancel buttons to Subroutine/Function and App Events dialogs.

 Added a Limit Orientation option to App Properties > Size. This option can be used to restrict mobile apps to landscape or portrait orientations if desired.

 Added Wait action which can be used to delay execution of a script block until a specified number of milliseconds has elapsed. This should be used in place of the Delay action which doesn't work well with JavaScript. Example:

HideObject "Image1" "fadeOut" 14
Wait 1200
ShowObject "Image1" "fadeIn" 14
EndWait

 Added TimerStart and TimerStop actions for use with the new Timer object.

 Added SetObjectBounds action.

 Added RotateObject action.

 Added Exit action to close the app. This action is primarily intended for use with Windows EXEs as most browsers and mobile platforms do not allow apps to close themselves.

 Added cursor style property to most objects.

 Simplified the layout of the New Application and App Properties > Size screens.

 Added Find/Replace to the action editor.

 Changed the method used to display hints in the action selector. Action descriptions now appear at the bottom of the editor window and remains on-screen as long as the mouse remains over the action name.

 Added option to detect Microsoft's Edge browser and add it to the "Run in Web Browser" menu if found.

 Added SliderExample and RotateExample sample apps.

 The Enable/DisableObject actions now work correctly with Checkbox and Radio Button objects.

 The items property of the Listbox / Combobox objects will now accept variable arrays that contain text|value pairs separated by the pipe "|" character.

 And numerous other minor fixes and enhancements.

Great update!. It's very nice to see how NeoAppBuilder evolves month after month and how our suggestions are implemented.
Thanks and congratulations :-).

By the way, for me the Alpha Value on color selector does not work for values other than 1 (100%).
I have been trying to change the background-color of some objects applying transparency with no luck.

So when you drag the alpha slider nothing happens? Are you using it with styles like background-color?

Yes i'm using it with styles like background-color on the properties panel.
If i drag the slider to the top right I get the solid color but if I choose whatever other value the color is allways completely transparent.
If you want I can record a screencast.

I'm sorry, I'm not able to reproduce that here. Maybe I'm doing something different than you are? A screencast would be great.

Thanks for creating the screencast. It looks like you're using Windows 10. It's probably another Windows 10 quirk to work around. I'll look into it.

Luis,

I can't tell from the video, but it might have something to do with the decimal character used for your locale. The U.S. uses a period "." and most of Europe uses a comma ",". It may be that the wrong one is being inserted into the color property. Normally, rgba colors are entered like this:

rgba(255,255,255,0.5)

In Spain, the color selector may be doing this:

rgba(255,255,255,0,5)

Which won't work.

Can you tell if that's what's happening on your PC?

Yes, that's it!
If I manually change the comma with a decimal point it works fine.
The alpha selector slider inserts a comma in my spanish version of Windows even if I have the english language in NeoAppBuilder.

The function used to convert the alpha value to a string is adding the comma based on the Regional and Language settings in the Windows control panel. If I change my locale format to "Spanish (Spain)", I will get the same error. Will correct this in the next update.
