NeoAppBuilder Beta Test

Welcome to the Beta Test of NeoAppBuilder
Our new rapid application development tool for building HTML5, web and mobile apps!

NeoBook users and others are welcome to participate. However, this pre-release version of NeoAppBuilder is intended for use by experienced users only!

Before you start, keep in mind that this software is not complete. It probably should be considered a pre-beta (or rough draft) and somewhat experimental. Several key features, including the help file, are unfinished. The software does not have the planned full compliment of objects and action commands. The software likely contains bugs, errors, typos, etc. However, we think if you use your imagination you will be able to see that the software has the potential to become a very useful tool. Together, with your help and input, we can create a great product.

If you're ready, please visit the following website for information on how to download the NeoAppBuilder beta:

Please report problems, bugs, suggestions, etc. in this forum or contact us by email.

Thanks Dave.. :D Been waiting for this.
Did have the layout completely freeze on me while changing some colors
but i will restart and see if it was something i did.
This is great :)

If you want to quickly convert the html to apk and test on
your phone you can download the HTML5toAPK Builder. Its free too.
and i just tried it with the demo calc, only takes 20 secs to compile.
You download Zip and then compile from Neo Appbuillder as web application
and choose the "empty" html5 folder in that unzipped program.
Click the go.bat and it'll produce the apk in that root folder.
Than i just use Airdroid (free on play) to install the apk and test. :)
I know there's other ways out there but i use Construct 2 and this is a good
1-click quick test solution rather then Phonegap.(and nothing to install.)

Hello,

Thanks for the next step!

On the download-page we can read that the download should have 12.7 MB
After download it is only 8 MB. Right?

Regards

Dave,

Exactly as you did with the great Neobook, my opinion is : you have created the product that others did not manage to invent. I like it a lot ! Many thanks for that :D

Are you really sure about this boring product title? There are too much of "app/builders" (example) out there already.

I agree the name is pretty boring. Unfortunately, it's really difficult in 2015 to find an interesting and unique name that someone somewhere hasn't already used for something. There were numerous times when I thought we had found a great name only to find someone using it (or something very close) for a product, website or even a Twitter handle.

We finally have available the new and much desired application.

I've been testing a little and from what I've seen so far, I'm afraid I'll have to learn many things from scratch. I think a good help file is much needed.
Anyway, the program appears to be a very good programming platform and I like that.

My sincere congratulations to the entire NeoSoft team, and especially thanks for not abandoning us. You're the best.

You're on your way to doing it again, Riley. Great job so far. As it is an early beta, I didn't expect much. It exceeded my expectations, leaving me quivering for what is to come. :o

And..... YOU STUCK TO YOUR RELEASE DATE! That brings up the question: How often do you plan to release beta updates?

Probably quite often - one a week at a minimum, but it depends on what turns up during testing.

I've dabbled in jquery in the past, even built a program in Neobook that creates jquery mobile web sites. The good news is jquery isn't hard to learn. Begin here:

http://jquerymobile.com/

Be sure to take a look at ThemeRoller, where you can design your own themes.

And here are some tutorials: http://www.w3schools.com/jquerymobile/

JQuery and JQuery Mobile are two different things. JQuery is already included in NeoAppBuilder so you can use it in your apps if you want to. On the other hand, JQuery Mobile is sort of a competing framework to Bootstrap which NeoAppBuilder uses, so I don't think you can use it here. But you don't need to know anything about JQuery, Bootstrap, etc. unless you want to.
