Hi Piotr,

> Is values as [hpwSQLiteResultCount] ???

Not in the current version.
Of cource I could build this in a future release.

As long you do not have this you can count the stringlist:

StrParse [hpwSQLiteResult]" "[#13][#10]" "[ResultLine]" "[ResultCount]"

You must substract 1 from [ResultCount] for the column-name line.
You get than also an array [ResultLine1], .. [ResultLineN]

Hans-Peter

Hans,

A new version (3.3.6) of sqlLite is out, if you have time can you update it...

Later on...
I notice that there is a all section for delphi with full source code (Database Engine)...

I like to ask how difficult is for Dave to take your work or take the source code from there and make i proffesional sql plugin...

Thanks...

Since 3.X has significant changed the calling interface compared to 2.X, it is not a simple update.
It need a rewrite or exchange of the underlying delphi-lib.

I notice that there is a all section for delphi with full source code (Database Engine)...

There are several options for delphi offered there.
Difficult to choose the right option (And time consuming).
Also my impression is that this current plugin is not widly in use
and we also having the ongoing discussion about use of plugins/freeware-plugins.
So maybe it is better to put the remaining resources into improving the
current plugin-base in terms of quality/usability. (New possibilitys with NB5 Designtime-plugins)

I like to ask how difficult is for Dave to take your work or take the source code from there and make i proffesional sql plugin...

That is a question to Dave.
(When I understand it right he was researching alternative database options)
Since my work is outdated (based on 2.X) he would need to do the same job and to choose to right lib.
The most interesting/powerfull lib would be DISQLite3 from:
http://www.yunqa.de/delphi/sqlite3/
Since that is a native delphi implementation there would be no need for a separate DLL.
(It is not free and I am not sure about redistribution-rights as a plugin, of cource a matter of money)
The question would be: Are enough people interested in such SQLite database option and is such database the right choice for neobooks 'EasyToUse' image.

SQL via ODBC

Hi,
just tested the SQLite plugin, great solution for standalone SQLite-databases.

What we need is an ODBC-driven solution, so you can use Postgres-, DB2- or MS-SQL-databases with standard init like
sqlinit("DSN=sql-server")

Anybody working on this?

Christian

I am definatly not.
Far beyond a freeware project!
(And not a non-commercial project)

Hi,
but you are an expert. :) Do you are interested in such a (commercial) project? Coding is ready and fully functional with MS-SQL and Postgres, but it would be nice to do the same with NB.
Thanks,
Christian

Thanks for the credit, but there are other experts too.
And what is the result of Neosoft recent research? :?:
Will there be a professional database plugin from the master himself?

Just released hpwSQLite 1.23:

http://www.hpwsoft.de/anmeldung/html1/n ... ook12.html

I had reports about problems to use hpwSQLite compiled in a web-PKG.
This release fix this problem, so that the DLL is extracted on the client-PC together with the plugin itself.
User who use an installer for installing the DLL can set the INI switch back to old non-embedding.
(Thanks to neosoft for the usefull 'nbAddFile' which I used now the first time)

Changes:
hpwSQLite.ini now has a section [Settings] with EmbeddedSQLite=1
This setting does automaticly embed the SQLite.dll from the [PubDir] into the neobook app.
(See Book\File-List under 'Plug-In Dependant Files:')

I was asked about the duplicate functions between hpwGrid and hpwSQLite.
It is not recommmended to install both plugins if you use such functions.
hpwGrid is for users who do not want to use SQLite.
hpwSQLite is for users who want to use both.

An option would be to remove the Grid and Combos from hpwSQLite.
But the SQLite/Grid users would get a bigger app because 2 plugins must be binded.

Any vote?
