NeobookDB 2.3d and problem with pictures

Postby dglojnar » Wed Jan 20, 2016 1:06 pm

Client of mine ask me to create small database with some screenshots - he insists to use dBase because of his earlier software.

Anyway, I have problem - when I try to SAVE records, error message appear:

"Invalid floating point operation"

Checking Google, I run antivirus sftware, checking hard drive - everything is OK.

dBase file is really simple - 4 fields, FileName(string) and 3 pictures field.

Any idea?

Regards!

Still won't work, runtime or compiled version.
In compiled version no errors message but I don't see any picture...

I try with sample database, work fine, but it's only one picture field...
Maybe is number of picture fields limited by one per table ?

Try and ...

1) add three records in the sample database ... one each using the 3 images that you could not load into your pub/database ... if you can't, then problem might be with size of your image files... I believe that the maximum size of a memo field (in dBase IV) is 64 KB.

2) add 3 tiny (e.g. 20 KB) image files in each record of your pub/database

3) add just one of your images in each record of your pub/database

Post your results here along with the size of image files used.

Gaev,

Thank You for help and support.

I just investigating and found very intersting thing - if I use JPG pictures, problem is still here...BUT, if I use a BMP type of pictures, everything is OK, no matter how picture i s big (I mean file size).
Same for PNG - not working, but GIF works only if picture is originally GIF, not converted - in this case, error apear again:-)

For test, I filled dBase table wth about 1.000 pictures, resolution 1600x900, average size about 4.3 Mb, and everything was working normally.
Ok, it was a little delay, but, hey - 1.000 pictures x 4.3Mb - impressive, ha ?:-)))

I need to try same with Access and some other databases....
