hpwUtiliy - hpwMapiMail

Postby cp4w » Sun Feb 19, 2012 7:17 am

I would like to use hpwMapiMail to send e-mails.

But in order to do that there needs to be a default e-mail client installed.

How can I determine that this is the case on the computer that would be running this App.

Hello,

Not a trivial question.
You may check the registry '\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail' for installed mail clients.
Not all clients were MAPI compliant in the past.

You can try with your SMTP server...
In NeoBook you have the SendMail action and some interesting Predefined Global Variables:

[MailServer]
[MailPort]
[MailUserID]
[MailUserPassword]

Here's an example:

Code: Select all
     SetVar "[MailServer]" "smtp.yourisp.com"
     SetVar "[MailUserID]" "FROM@MyServer.com"
     SetVar "[MailUserPassword]" "MyPassword"
SendMail "TO@server.com" "FROM@MyServer.com" "SUBJECT" "TEXT" "HideProgress"

No need to say that you must activate the encrypt publication on your EXE.

Greetings.
Greetings/Saludos, Jose.

Thanks for the replies.

HPW, this has to be determined on the computer in order to use the plug-in, because I don't think that it even returns an error if you execute the mapimail without a default e-mail client.

cn_iceman,
I'm aware of this option but sometimes it is difficult to use through a firewall and was looking for other options.
