Neobookdx fullscreen

Postby bchdata » Fri May 25, 2007 9:40 am

I want to be able to change between Fullscreen and Normal when I play video in a player made with NeoBookDX 1.1a.
I do it with two hiden buttons with the commands:

dxFullScreenMode "[player]" "True" and
dxFullScreenMode "[player]" "False".

The buttons has shortcut keys so that I can change with my keyboard.

The problem is:
I can change to fullscreen, and then back to normal, but when I try again to change to fullscreen, then the video disappears.
When I change back to normal, then I see the video again.

I use Windows Vista, and I can tell that it worked under Windows XP.

I'm not able to reproduce this problem here, but it may have something to do with the type of video file you're using. Windows handles the actual display of the video, so the problem could be related to the codec required by your video. Maybe a different version of the codec is installed on your XP and Vista systems?

Does the problem occur with other types of videos (wmv, avi, mpeg)?

I have tried Camtasia TSSC codec, wmv and mpeg.
Still the same problem.

I will try to change my Graphic card.
The driver to my actual card does not allow me to reduce the hardware acceleration.

I have seen earlier that the graphic card can give problems with dx.

I will come back when I have tried that.

I tried with another Graphics card, and it worked when I turned off the hardware acceleration.
I will not use dxFullScreenMode any more, but I have found another way to see the video in two solutions.

My application is in a window 1024x768 and inside it is a rectangle 800x600 where I play the video.

When I want a big video a use these commands:

SizeObject "Rectangle1" "1024" "768"
MoveObject "Rectangle1" "0" "0"
dxSetVideoMode "[player]" "Aspect"

When I want a small video I use these:

SizeObject "Rectangle1" "800" "600"
MoveObject "Rectangle1" "20" "100"
dxSetVideoMode "[player]" "Aspect"
