tmDBFNavigatorOnOff "rectangle1" "0"

Check the wizard for this action. If you check the OFF box, it is on. If you uncheck it, it is off. I think it's bass ackwards. :)

Ok. Put in the next release fixes. There´s another fix to export to CSV, too.

Thanks, Al.

tmDBFGridSetColWidth "rectangle1" "0" "250"
tmDBFGridSetColWidth "rectangle1" "1" "75"
tmDBFGridSetColWidth "rectangle1" "2" "75"
tmDBFGridSetColWidth "rectangle1" "3" "0"
tmDBFGridSetColWidth "rectangle1" "4" "75"

By setting the fourth column to 0, it doesn't show. That's fine, but what if I have a db with 100 fields? One would have to 0 out 95 of them so they wouldn't show since the grid displays ALL fields in the db by default. I think what we need is the ability to select which fields will show before displaying the grid.

Update: just discovered:
tmDBFGridHideColumn "rectangle1" "3"

Is there a way to put more than 1 column number in here?

Can't seem to set the header for the last column displayed:

tmDBFCreate "Rectangle1"
tmDBFNavigatorOnOff "rectangle1" "0"
tmDBFPageViewShowTabs "Rectangle1" "0"
tmDBFGridHideColumn "rectangle1" "3"
tmDBFGridSetColWidth "rectangle1" "0" "405"
tmDBFGridSetColWidth "rectangle1" "1" "75"
tmDBFGridSetColWidth "rectangle1" "2" "75"
tmDBFGridSetColWidth "rectangle1" "4" "75"
tmDBFPageViewActiveTab "Rectangle1" "1"
tmDBFSetTableName "Rectangle1" "[pubdir]monitor.dbf"
tmDBFOpen "Rectangle1" "0"
tmDBFGridSetColHeaders "Rectangle1" "Headers"

Created a textentry containing:

URL
Status
Pass
Last Check

Last column displays the fieldname. The first 3 display as expected. Does it in your grid example pub as well.

Also, is there a way to choose the display order of the fields?

Sorry, Al. I'm not trying to slam you. I just happened to find the time to check this plug out, and I'm throwing it at you as I find it. Also, I'm not PMing you because your replies will save others from bothering you about the same things. And if I find something that can be done, but I missed it, it would help if you could give us examples, as there is no documentation to refer to. The 34 sample pubs help, but it's a nightmare going through them all to find what you're looking for.

Other things needed:

- Choose which tabs to display. When using tmDBFPageViewTabsCaptions, if you leave Data Inspector blank, it doesn't show. If you fill it in, it does. This would be a good place to choose which tabs show. Default would be show no tabs. Then, whichever box you fill in, only that one shows, like Data Inspector is now.

- In RecordView and Data Inspector, you can't edit the data? What purpose do they serve? You can view the data in the grid anyway. Recordview could serve a purpose if you could choose which fields show, since there may not be enough room in the grid to show certain records. Would also be nice to be able to edit the field data here.

- I'm still working on finding a use for the data inspector.

- Choose what fields are displayed in recordviewer and data inspector. There may be some fields the user doesn't need to see. And ability to set labels in recordviewer.

Wrangler, All you doubts will be clarify with the user guide. You are completely right about how hard is learn from examples. That´s why all my next releases and updates will be with the user guide. It´s really hard to me write a user guide in a language that is not my native language, but, i´m trying. well, I have create the tmwebtranslator to help me that some time ago :)

I´m in a rush to release PrintSys3 and tmreports2 and they will be very connected to the database suite, so the user guide have to reflect this. the DBF was almost ready for release the new version, after I use my new framework and converted it, but the databse suite share lots of code among the database "tastes", so it is a little hard to update. I´m trying to maintan compatibility as most as possible. But i will resolve the pendings, for sure.

Ok, Al. I'm not trying to pressure you. If you like, send me a copy of the docs you have done. I'll be glad to clean them up for you, since they should already be in english, and I won't have to learn Portugese. I'm sure the translator will work, but they don't normally do a good job in translation and the English language is kind of goofy anyway. English words that have multiple meanings aren't handled well by translators. Sometimes the translation can be misleading.

I have WinCHM installed. Maybe there's a way I can open your docs in that.

Email: sales@highdesertsoftware.com

Also, some docs is better than no docs. When I make changes to my shareware titles, I update the docs then. But in the meantime, users have a doc file to use. If you wait until all the projects that are tied into it are done to update the docs, it could be a very long time before we get ANY. Just make docs for each seperate project.
