Questions about NeoBook PlugIns

Moderator: Neosoft Support

Just released hpwSimpleGraph 1.12:

http://www.hpwsoft.de/anmeldung/html1/n ... ook19.html

Added an option to translate the runtime-dialogs.
Resource-strings are loaded from neobook variable (See *Prop.res files).

I was asked to translate the dialogs to a different language. I find a little free time and give it a try.
Since I do not want this for multiple language I choose the generic approach and make external resource-files for the dialogs.

Translators are wellcome to publish other language resources here or send them to me.

Thank you very, very much HPW.
I appreciate the time you took to let Neobook developers of applications in different languages to be able now to use the great hpwSimpleGraph plug-in.

I do software applications in two languages English and Spanish.

As Neobook is a multilingual software intended for international developers, I think every single plug-in produced to be used with NeoBook must follow a basic starting point. "GLOBALIZATION"

If a plug-in developer from another country, with a different language makes an interesting plug-in it is ok with me if he makes the instructions in how to use the plug-in commands in his language, as I always can depend on a dictionary to learn what he is telling. But when it comes to software dialogs that end users of the compiled application read; If that dialog from the plug-in is not in the same language as the native language of the application then that plug-in becomes useless for the developer.

I had translated all the Prop.res of the hpwSimpleGraph version 1.12 into Spanish.
But before I can post them on to these pages there are some other parts of the plug-in that need to be upgraded first! And they are:

->The words “Node Text” that appears inside the figures. Preferable to be empty, without a word as default.

->The Combo Boxes on the “Node Properties” need to be fixed with any language.

->The Radio Buttons of the Form Figures on the “Node Properties” need to be fixed with any language.

I am a Neosoftware customer since 3 years ago. I did not have to write much in the forum because all my questions were always answered with the posts of really nice and kind people like HPW. So I want to take the opportunity to really appreciate the work and contribution that HPW have done to the NeoBook community world wide. I have learned a lot from your posts, as well from others like Gaev and Sam Cox. I take my hat off to you guys. Thank you very, very much.

Hello WinMacLyn,

->The words “Node Text” that appears inside the figures. Preferable to be empty, without a word as default.

This one is easy. Take a look at the 'Create Graph' buttons action.
There is a variable [hpwSimpleGraphNodeDefaultText] which can be set to whatever you want.

->The Combo Boxes on the “Node Properties” need to be fixed with any language.

->The Radio Buttons of the Form Figures on the “Node Properties” need to be fixed with any language.

This 2 are a bit more difficult since they are created dynamicly on runtime.
I have to take a deeper look into the code.

Hi everyone,

Thank you HPW for the German language translation of the Prop.res for the hpwSimpleGraph 1.13.

HPW if you find some free time, I have two more requests for you to upgrade your fantastic hpwSimpleGraph 1.13 plug-in.
And they are:

-> The Node Properties window is too big for the user with 800 X 600 resolution screen. Please modify a little the 6 check boxes on the Option Section. You can place 3 at the left side and the other 3 at the right side,
so the Node Properties window can be smaller.

-> I if you add this function will be great. To be able to change the RSimpleGraph canvas size without deliting the Nodes "figures".

One more time, thank you for your exellent work HPW.

Just released hpwSimpleGraph 1.14:

http://www.hpwsoft.de/anmeldung/html1/n ... ook19.html

Action: hpwSimpleGraphSetSize - Set the size of a SimpleGraph-control.
Fix: Resizing the rectangle now resizes the simplegraph-component
Node-property dialog with reduced height for smaller screen-resolutions
Resource-strings for german and spanish included.

Hi everyone,

Thank you a lot HPW for the re-size of the Node-property dialog.

Many, many thanks for making the hpwSimpleGraphSetSize possible, I will try it today. This great plug-in has so many possibilities. They are endless!

Great work HPW.

Hi everybody,

I am using hpwSimpleGraph in several of my programs. I want to know if it is possible to add a new functionality to the hpwSimpleGraph plug-in:

-> A semi clear Node, to have a sort of invisibility.
To be able to see the background through the Node color. And to be able (programmatically) to adjust the solidity of the color to be transparent.

-> To be able to call programmatically the complete transparency of the Node. The transparency as it is right now.

Thank you HPW once more for your great support and for adding more functionalities to the great hpwSimpleGraph.

WinMacLyn,

Not sure what you exactly mean.

A boolean flag to set node/link visibility to 0/1 ?
(Set the complete visibility on a given object-id ?)

A partly transparence get be reached through background-loading a WMF where the background is transparent.

hi everybody,

The background “sample object name: RSimpleGraph” = the background “the canvas” has already this functionality.

I am referring about the following, for the shape figures.
A semi clear Node, to have a sort of invisibility.
To be able to see the background through the Node color. And to be able (programmatically) to adjust the solidity of the color to be transparent.

For the shape figures.
To be able to call programmatically the complete transparency of the Node. The transparency as it is right now.

Thanks a lot HPW.

Still not clear to me.

A semi clear Node, to have a sort of invisibility.
To be able to see the background through the Node color. And to be able (programmatically) to adjust the solidity of the color to be transparent.

To make a transparent node color you have this:

SetVar "[hpwSimpleGraphNodeBgStyle]" "bsClear"

Do you want to change it on runtime after it is created?

To be able to call programmatically the complete transparency of the Node. The transparency as it is right now.

You have not answered my previous quetsion:

A boolean flag to set node/link visibility to 0/1 ?
(Set the complete visibility on a given object-id ?)

What do you want to reach?

HPW,

I want to be able to change the density of the transparency of the figure. To have a figure with a color, plus with that color to be semi transparent. And to be able to control the density “solidity” with a percentage value.

Thanks, you answered my second question. I can change the transparency of the figure programmatically (from solid to complete transparency) with:
SetVar "[hpwSimpleGraphNodeBgStyle]" "bsClear"
Do you want to change it on runtime after it is created?

Yes, I want to change it grammatically on runtime after it is created.

This is not possible, since there is nor support for that in the simplegraph component. It would require a alpha-channel support, which is not present to my knowledge.
