Read only application?

Postby stu » Mon Feb 01, 2016 11:40 am

Hi,

I was wondering if there's a way of having an application that depending on the [UserName] variable would determine if the editable elements (textboxes, grids, etc) can be edited or not?

Stu:

How about DisableObject or HideObject ... either on each of the boxes you want to protect ... or place them all inside a Container object and do them all with just one command.

As for the Grid itself, dbpSetGridProperties has option to set ReadOnly=yes/no.

Yeah... I don't know why I keep thinking of that as "the ugly way" of doing this. I thought about a DBPRO function that would render every possible editable item as Read Only but I was thinking of: dbpSetAutoEdit and I that's not the solution...

Yeah, I'll carry on with the DisableObject way... Its cool, thanks.
