I've found out that the best way of doing things while working with MSSQL is to use dbpExecSQL instead of some of the preset functions, some of them, like the navigation work fine but other like dbpDefineRelationship tend to be a bit ineffective. For building relationships its always better to use MSSMS, actually for building the DB, then you just call it from nb.

Access databases work really well with DBPro because the required files are included as part of Windows. For all other types of databases, you must download and install software, drivers, etc. (like mySQL). Because of this and the way some of these other database engines store their content it's very difficult to create samples apps that will work everywhere.

Remember, W3Schools.com is your friend:

http://www.w3schools.com/sql/default.asp

They teach generic SQL syntax. In some cases it is different than MS Access.

Each lesson has samples.

no wonder access was too easy with dbpro.. i guess i have to try learn a bit or two of mysql first..
ill try if i have free time.. i was thinking of moving up with which database i should use, thought mysql was better than access.. :o
