Using dpPopupDateSelector

Postby BRobinsonS » Tue Mar 26, 2013 11:33 am

I am using dpPopupDateSelector to populate a field.
I discovered that you can change the year by clicking year (rotating the years). That's ok.
When I select the Month, I get a drop down list of months.
When I choose a month i.e. Dec while on Oct the calendar disappears.

The only way to get other months seems to be to click on the arrow keys.

I have a simple app not using NeobookDB Pro and the calendar works the way I would expect.

Not a serious issue, but I wonder why?

I can't reproduce that problem here. The popup calendar is a standard Windows component so its appearance and behavior can change depending on what version of Windows you're using. Are you sure you're not double clicking on the month? That might result in a date being selected which will close the calendar.

Interesting.
I am using Windows XP .
Not double clicking. At least I don't think so.
The calendar just closes and doesn't paste the date in the field.

I activate the popup calendar by a Button, then make my date choice which paste the date in the field.

Wow. Just tried the calendar again. Sometimes selecting the Month doesn't close the calendar, if I'm careful, and sometimes it does.
Not double-clicking.
I'm baffled.

Again not a very serious problem. Just surprised.

It could be something unique to XP. It's a standard Windows component so unfortunately we don't have much control over how it behaves.

If it works sometimes, then it most likely is not a software/configuration problem ... perhaps, your mouse is on its last legs (clicks) ... many years ago, I had a mouse that (through wear and tear) was registering two (quick) clicks when I clicked once ... some programs were unaffected but others responded as if I had double clicked ... I was advised to try with a new mouse ... and when I did, problem disappeared.

Interesting idea.
Can't say I have had mouse problems, but this would be subtle.
I'll see what another mouse will do.
