Connect to MySQL with HTTP Tunneling?

Postby tranqui » Mon Aug 20, 2012 3:06 am

Hello, I wonder if the DBPro plugin allows to establish a connection to a mysql database which is only accessible via HTTP tunneling, or if there is any alternative to tunneling.
My database is hosted on aruba.it
Thank you very much in advance.

Remember, the account on MySQL used to log on MUST allow access from the IP you are using (or a wildcard address). Many accounts only allow access via localhost (127.0.0.1) which is how a php script would access the MySQL server.

Do you have PHPmyAdmin on your MySQL server? Can you add a user with unlimited rights and access? I don't recommend logging on remotely using your root username/pw if possible.
