text field enable color Grey to BLACK?

Postby schmutly » Mon Jun 18, 2012 1:17 pm

Hello.
I was wondering if there is anyway to change the text fields color when you select the option of STATUS= visible(ticked) but enable (off)
Why? Because i have some text fields that get populated by cvs file and i dont want anyone to "ADD" to these fields. When i untick 'enable' that accomplishes what i need but the text goes GREY and is a bit hard to see.
Can this font be made BLACK OR....is there a way to stop anyone typing into these populated fields(they vary in length foe each in the list).

Thanks for any help,
Robbie

Hi,

A possible workaround can be to use "Text" objects (Label's) instead of "TextEntries", of course when you show to the user the "read only" registries. Then, when enable the registries to edition, simply hide the "Text" objects and show the "TextEntries".

Hope this can help in some manner.

Not sure what you mean Dec.
I would be happy with "Disable object" when mouse enter text area and then "enable object" when mouse LEAVE that multiline text area...but it doesn't work. When mouse enter area text is disabled,GOOD, but when leaving OBJECTS area is doesn't Re-enable....not sure why.
THIS would be useable for now, but i cant get it to work.,
What am i missing here?
Thanks,
Robbie

Disabled objects do not trigger mouse enter/exit actions.

Robbie:

Have you considered using the Article object ? ... it can handle text (e.g. csv) files as well ...
Code: Select all
SetObjectFileName "Article1" "[PubDir]sample1.csv"

You can choose Word wrap, Scrollbars and Font settings.

And no worries about user trying to make changes.

Hi guys,
i was able to get this working using your idea Dec and thanks Gaev
for your input. :D

One more question,if i may.
As i am toggling through each DB item i have a button so that when you
see an item you like you click button to add it to a list.
I am using Listbox:
-------------
GetObjectInfo "Title" "Caption" "[HireList]"
ListBoxAddItem "ListBox2" "0" "[HireList]"
-------------
What i cant work out is how to "EMAIL" that list to my email.
When i click send button it arrives in my inbox but i cant seem
to have it show the "list" it produced.
I don't really want to add it to a list.txt attachment and wondered how
i can do a copy/paste action to get this pasted into the
SENDMAIL "message" part of the action.

Any ideas? Thanks heaps,
Robbie

Hello,

I don't know if understand well what you can mean, but, I think you need to iterate over the ListBox items in order to put in certain variable, who can be included later on your email message. Something like this:

Code: Select all
.Prepare our selected items variable
SetVar "[MySelectedItems]" ""

.Get the number of items in our listbox
ListBoxSize "MyListBox" "[ListBoxSize]"

.Iterate over the items
Loop "1" "[ListBoxSize]" "[I]"

.Get the current item in the iteration
  ListBoxGetItem "MyListBox" "[I]" "[CurrentItem]"

.In order to fill our selected items variable with it
  SetVar "[MySelectedItems]" "[MySelectedItems][#13][CurrentItem]"
EndLoop

.In this sample just see what we have in our selected items variable
AlertBox "Info" "Content of MySelectedItems: [MySelectedItems]"

* Put this code in the button that send the message... or better said, when you need to get all the messages on the Listbox in order to prepare the variable that you can use later on your email message.
