Populating Combo List Box for selection

Postby BRobinsonS » Tue Jun 05, 2012 5:42 pm

I am working on my own DB Management App to create Databases and tables as well as modify the tables and fields. When I open a Database, I would like to populate a List Box for selection of a table of my choosing to view the contents.
Is it possible? I can view the contents if I type in the name in the edit box I use currently.

Yes! Using Neobook's dbPro plugin use dbpGetTableNames then parse the list and run a loop using ListBoxAddItem to generate the listbox contents:
Code: Select all
dbpGetTableNames "NewDb" ";" "[TableNames]"

StrParse "[TableNames]" ";" "[TableNames]" "[TableCount]"

Loop "1" "[TableCount]" "[LoopCounter]"
     ListBoxAddItem "ListBox1" "0" "[TableNames[LoopCounter]]"
EndLoop

Simple as that!

Brian:

If you are looking for a generic DB Management Utility ... take a look at something I built many years ago ... http://www.scriptedlogic.com/AccessDBU.htm ... built entirely with NeoBook and the NeoBookDBPro plugin.

Not sure what you are asking but ...
This (Standard) Edition is classified as "DonationWare" i.e. it is being made available at no charge but if you find it of use, you are encouraged to make a donation ...
... the key phrase is if you find it of use ... so you decide after downloading/trial etc. ... and the donation amount is entirely up to you :-)
