Help to make odbc connection to mysql in background

Postby martincalatrava » Mon Feb 06, 2012 2:17 am

Hi. I have a mysql database and into my computer works good NBdbpro, but when I send the exe file to another computer appears error to connect to my mysql remote database. ODBC Drivers are installed but I would like If you can help me to make a bat file with ODBCCONF command to put into windows the connection to mysql server to allow neobook exe file to connect with mysql remote database.

Or there are other system to put into odbc the info needed by windows to connect to mysql without any interaction with PC user?.

My neobook string is:
dbpOpenDatabase "prmanager" "Provider=MSDASQL.1;Driver={MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver};Server=server1.moviere.com;Database=quincece_demo;User=quincece_demo;Password=demo;Option=3"

How can I configure any user PC ODBC automatically to use my app?

Thanks

This are things I would check:

-Did the other user install the MySQL connector?
-Try using a newer connector version (Driver={MySQL ODBC 5.1 Driver})
-Sometimes the firewall or antivirus program block the external connections and the user has to allow that connection manually.

Hope this ideas work.
