Can't inline edit when using setgrid properrties

Postby datadon » Tue Oct 25, 2011 6:37 am

I am loading an excel spreadsheet. When I display the grid, if I set the grid properties, I can no longer do an inline edit of the records. If I do not set any grid properties, I can inline edit just fine. Is this a bug or am I missing something on how to make the edit work again?

It depends on what properties you're setting. There are two that do not permit editing - ReadOnly and RowSelect.

Ah, it was the row select. Kind of curious why that is? A windows limitation or is there a functional reason I just don't see?

It has something to do with the database enabled grid component we use.

I found a way around it, I use a check box called "Edit: next to the button that loads the database, If it is checked then it loads not using the select row, else it uses the select row. I like the select row as it makes displaying the current row easier to see.

Thanks
