NeoBookDBPro v1.5 Update Released

Postby Neosoft Support » Wed Sep 29, 2010 12:08 pm

NeoSoft Corp. has released NeoBookDBPro version 1.5. This update can be downloaded from:

http://www.neosoftware.com/neobook/modules/plugins/singlefile.php?cid=2&lid=75

NOTICE: Before proceeding it is important to note that this update required a small change to the .dbr file format used by the Report Designer. This means that reports saved with v1.5 cannot be opened by older versions of DBPro or the Report Designer.

This update contains the following:

Enhancements

 Added dbpPopupDateSelector action that can be used to display a popup calendar/date selector. The date selector can be used independently of any database or grid.

 The wizard for the dbpCreateTable action now displays an alert message when you attempt to use a field name that conflicts with a known database reserved word. The reserved word list is stored in an external file called ReservedWords.txt in the NeoBookDBPro folder. This file can be edited to add or remove reserved words.

 Added a property called “DelimiterInContext” to the dbpFieldToVar action that provides options for handling delimiter character that appear within the exported data. See the help file for details.

 Table cells containing data too large to fit on-screen are now displayed as hints when the mouse pointer hovers over the cell.

Fixes

 Database connection information stored within report files (.dbr) is now encrypted. Previously, it was possible to view connection information, including passwords, when viewing report files with a hex editor.

 The dbpFieldToVar action now trims trailing spaces at the end of Char type fields. (The spaces are added automatically by the Access database engine.)

 Corrected a problem with the dbpListPrint action that caused an access violation error when printing records containing more than 50 fields.

Hi Dave:

Work perfectly, the only one inconvenience is what if the publication does not extend throughout the full screen, surpass the width of the same.

The width would be able to get under control somehow.

Thanks.

Dear Dave:

The pub has 800 of width, while the hints surpasses it largely.

You can see what I say with this image link.

Thanks.

It is true!

As they see in the previous link, in the case that the publication not comprise the totality of the screen, it does not result practical in the reading and you lose the esthetics of the executable.

If the data contains line breaks those will be appear in the hint making it more readable. Instead should we wrap the hint to the same width as the field/column in the grid?

Considering that the field isn't Auto RowHeight.

I think than the hint to the same width as the field/column in the grid, it would be more presentable as image link:

Dear Neosoft:

Enhancements
Table cells containing data too large to fit on-screen are now displayed as hints when the mouse pointer hovers over the cell.

You can create an option to disable this Enhancement if it is not desired or required.

From now on, thank you very much.

Hi..
If you ask me i don't have problem at all the way it is, but as Gustavo said you can put an option to disable it or even relative margins according to table position to shown.

Thanks

Dear Neosoft:

I would like to know by the time they have projected to update this plugin.

Because now when the mouse pointer hovers over the cell, if the contents is very extensive (memo type field), hints comprise the whole screen.

From now on, thank you very much.
