Why the database only save 50 character when using Memo?

Postby WinMacLyn » Wed Apr 22, 2009 5:46 am

Hello everybody,

I am making a program that use an extreme large Text Entry object (that cover almost the complete screen) with the Multi-line, Scroll bars,
And Word wrap checked. And for the Access database for the
dbpCreateTable "NewDatabase" "Archive" "Test Memo"
I am using Memo to have the option to have as many as 60,000 characters maximum.
With a column width of 90 as I mention in the following command
dbpSetColumnWidths "NewDatabase" "Archive" "Test=90"

Everything works ok except the database only save 49 or 50 character maximum even when I enter about (1,000) one thousand characters
Please, can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

WinMacLyn:
dbpSetColumnWidths "NewDatabase" "Archive" "Test=90"
From the Help file ...
A list containing the original field name, an equal sign and the width (in pixels) to be assigned to each column.
Try specifying a column width of about 800 ... see if you view more of the text that is part of the field ... just not displayed because of the specified column width.

Note that the Grid does not automatically wrap text that does not fit in the specified column width ... but you might play around with dbpSetRowHeight to see if more text is displayed with taller rows ... otherwise, you have to copy the Table's field content to a NeoBook Object in order to view/edit all of it.

Thank you very much Gaev,

I just delete the old database and let the program produce a new database and now everything is working ok.
