MySQL database location

Postby datadon » Fri Jun 06, 2008 11:11 am

I don't know if I am the only person who would like to know this, but maybe there are others..

When you or I create a database for a site using cpanel, where does the database actually reside? I guess it must be in a hidden folder or something. I've never seen a new file anywhere after creating one.

This is just a curiosity question as I don't plan on messing with it.

Also, what type of file is it? Just an ascii file or is it a binary file?

Any info is appreciated.
