Report Counter

Postby smartmedia » Sun May 18, 2008 11:00 pm

Hi...

I have a report which print a traffic order. The number of vehicles are specific let say 50 but not all of them printed in report every time i use the report. In that report i want to have a counter which i specify the start number of counting (example 1450), that counter increased by 1.
So, in Data body i want to have something like that:
[MyStartingCountVar]+[ReportCounter]
The report will print 30 records according to query, in every record will printed the 1450+1 = 1451 for the first record 1450+2 = 1452 for the second record and so on.

I don't know if exist that, if not is something i need.

Sorry for my english. Hope you understand.
Thanks

smartmedia:

From the NeoBookDBPro help file ...
[ID.Table.$RecNum] This is the current active record's position from the beginning of the file based on the current sort/query.

... so perhaps you can try and define a formula in your report that is something like ...
Code: Select all
[MyStartingCountVar]+[myTable.$RecNum]
... where myTable is replaced by whatever name you are using for your Table.

The Report Designer also has an internal variable called [Record#] which can be used in place of the table's $RecNum variable. For example:

Code: Select all
[MyStartingCountVar]+[Record#]

See the Report Designer's help file under Text/Field Tool > Special Codes.
