Evaluation version

This may be a rookie question, but I can't seem to get past it this monday morning.

I am trying to compile the latest version of Nbdbpro that has the report designer in it. I have registered the plugin and it shows the green check mark, but it keeps popping up the evaluation window. How do I get rid of it?

thanks

Don: Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin? You may also try cleaning out your temp dir.

Hi Wrangler,

Yes I got rid of all the temps and reinstalled, but problem still exist. One odity is that I am running NB from a jumpdrive. I have done so in the past with other plugins without any issues. All files are on the jumpdrive.

Maybe that is the issue. I'll wait until Dave replies if he does and go from there.

thanks

Thanks again Wrangler

I remember seeing that post. My first thought was why does my Neobook seem to work fine from my jumpdrive without it. My home pc has NB installed on it. My work PC does not. I have been having sucess without any thing additional. Now I have the issue with the plugin. I know it has to read the registry so I guess that is the issue. I can run Neobook just fine from the jumpdirve. The only issue is with the compiling of the pub with the plugin installed. Or so it seems.

The problem is most definitely caused by the jumpdrive. Are you using a USB drive program manager like Ceedo?

Don: Jumpdrive? Me thinks you bean picking up too many of those Mexican jumping beans.

Hehehe, I don't think it is the beans, but maybe the cerveza...

Dave,

Nope, haven't been using anything. I just installed to the drive directly and all has worked fine. I am thinking it is because I don't have NB installed on my work machine that I get the error. But like I said, everything else has worked fine until this....

Thanks for the info. At least I know what I must do to remove the problem.

Don,

NeoBook will run from a plain USB drive, but it will still need to store its settings and plug-in registration info in the PC's registry, so it's not truly a portable installation. You will need to re-register your plug-ins on each PC where you use your USB drive. Unfortunately, you'll essentially be leaving a registered version of all of your plug-ins on every PC that you visit. Using a program like Ceedo will cause NeoBook's registry setting to stay with the USB drive making a truly portable copy of NeoBook.

i compiled mine, didnot make any installer, just ran it directly to the folder..
works fine at my home pc.. where i made it,,

i was wondering.. it wont work in my office pc.. it says ive got evaluation dbpro..
does that mean i have to install neobook and install dbpro plugin in my office pc?..

problem is, i need to keep jumping from office a to office b to office c..

its too hassle to install everything in each pc..

whats wrong in the way i compiled the program?

Yanzco: Did you buy NeoBook and DBPro from NeoSoft or somewhere else?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe don is talking about running NEOBOOK from a "jumpdrive" where Yanzco is talking about running a COMPILED NEOBOOK PUB?

Yes, I think these are two different issues.
