Report designer - suggestions

Postby phenix37 » Tue Jan 08, 2008 12:08 pm

Hello, everybody!

I tested NeobookDBPro.
Here's one or the other suggestions:
-- Possibility to place recordings from left to right instead of top to bottom when using several colones.

-- Zoom in the editor to facilitate the placement of objects

Thanks

Merci

Those are interesting suggestions. I'm not sure there will be time to add them to this version, but maybe they can be added to a future update.

Hi...

Futures:
1) Be able to lock object position.
2) Show text in vertical position.
3) I want to use Formula like (SUM) in normal text/filed.
4) Full text align. This is a must.

That's it for now.

Hi...

I have tied to build a label report application but the text is solid when i put an image under it.
So, a nice future is to have transparent text/field.

Also, i don't know how possible this is but an option to have the report preview window running in rectangle of Neobook.

Thanks

Another suggestion

Postby phenix37 » Fri Feb 08, 2008 8:37 am

Hello
Another suggestion about Report Designer.
It would be interesting to make a filled formatting conditional

For example, if the schedule below, the working hours of the day is colored based on the content of fields in the database.
In Report Designer, it is not possible.
In Neobook:

In Report Designer:

Thank you

I'm not sure how we could add something like that without creating a scripting language for the Report Designer. However, if you have the NeoBook screen looking the way you like, you might try using the PrintPage action. The "high resolution" print option should do a pretty good job of rendering your table.

I can imagine the problem.
Print a page of neobook poses a concern to the waist. Depending on the resolution of the publishing, printing can be difficult.
I carry out trials with several printers.
In certrains cases, the size of the text is amended and the text is no longer in full

conditional formatting

Postby phenix37 » Sun Feb 10, 2008 4:29 am

On a conditional formatting filling and character in Report Designer:

Would it not be possible to use the same principle as formatting the text? For example
Code: Select all
[Products.Price |$#,#. 00]

Where it would be giving a variable formatted fields.
What would:
Code: Select all
[Products.Price]|[ObjectFont; "Black" "Arial" "10" "Normal" "DEFAULT_CHARSET"] | [ObjectFill "White" "Solid" "False"]

The variables ObjectFont and ObjectFill would be determined in the publication neobook
Thank you for your consideration.

That's an interesting idea. Maybe some kind extension to the formatting codes would work, but how does this provide different colors based on the contents of the variable?

Of course, this option would not be feasible for a display fields.

At least that Neobook the creation of a script.
For example it would be in Neobook:
Code: Select all
If "[ID.Table.Field]" "=" "This_one"
Setvar "[ObjectFont]"  "Blue"
Else
Setvar "[ObjectFont]" "Red"
Endif

And Report Designer "watch" the contents of the variable to format the fields.
