NeoBookDBPro, MySQL and Windows 98

Postby beno » Sat Oct 13, 2007 11:07 am

Hi,

I´m doing tests in my LAN with NeoBookDBPro and MySQL.

I created a database hosted in one WinXP PC with MySQL and I can access it nice form other XP machines.

Next I installed the MySQL ODBC driver in a old PC running Windows 98 (plain). The MySQL Driver installed nice, no complains.

But when I run my NeoCreation from this Win98 PC to access the MySQL database in the XP machine it reports: "Errors"

The variable [dbpError] contains "Errors"...

I have searched in the manual for help or other elements that may help to understand what is happening, but have not found nothing.

I know I´m not describing more details... but the problem is that I do not have more info to post here.

The test databse is REAL simplistic, one table with fields: Name, Sex and Notes.

Ideas?

TIA,

beno

Hi,

Problem solved.

The thing was to download and install the last update of MS MDAC and update the Internet Explorer in that machine (it had IE4 and now is IE5).

Works perfect!

What I´m trying to do?

There are lots of bussiness here in Mexico with lots of "old PCs", now with NeoBookDBPro it is possible to offer database programs that may start using the installed base.

Saludos,

beno
