dbpSetFieldProperties MALFUNCTION

Postby smartmedia » Mon Sep 24, 2007 1:51 pm

Hello. The new NeoBookDBPro release fixed the publication termination error
but i think that created a new one. When i use the dislay format option of the
dbpSetFieldProperties command, the variables are being formatted but the format is not appear on the grid.
Furthermore, when i click twice on a grid field(and becomes active) the format appears properly.
If it's not much trouble, please fix it.

Format used: #.00€|-#.00€|0.00€

Hi...

Using the following command i can't save any data to variable. If i use a simple SetVar "QuestionNum" "12" after running dbpSetFieldProperties i can't
save the data in record...

dbpSetFieldProperties "Test" "Usr" "QuestionNum" "Alignment=Center;TitleAlignment=Left;PickList=;DropDownRows=7;DisplayFormat=;EditMask=;ValidChars=;ColumnWidth=;ReadOnly=Yes;Visible=Yes"

And i really need that...

Your dbpSetFieldProperties code is setting the field to Read-Only. DBPro can't tell the difference between using SetVar to change data or some other means, so what you need to do is temporarily turn off the Read-Only state, set the variable, then turn Read-Only back on. For example:

dbpSetFieldProperties "Test" "Usr" "QuestionNum" "ReadOnly=No"
SetVar "[Test.Usr.QuestionNum]" "whatever"
dbpSaveEdits "Test" "Usr"
dbpSetFieldProperties "Test" "Usr" "QuestionNum" "ReadOnly=Yes"
