Initializing sql-database

tested opening a PostgreSQL-database, 2 Strings are working:

dbpOpenDatabase "YourDatabaseName" "Provider=MSDASQL.1;Persist Security Info=False;Data Source=sql-server2"

Grid is working, the correct column-with is automatically done, depending on the field-length; sorting and editing is possible.

Using the postgres-driver, works too

dbpOpenDatabase "YourDatabaseName" "Provider=PostgreSQL.1;Password=******;User ID=postgres2;Data Source=localhost;Location=Name_of_the_Postgres_database;Extended Properties=[#34][#34]"

but sorting columns is not possible, there is always an errormessage:
"Cannot sort a binary or special field"

Editing is not possible too.

Columns have all the same width, but you can change it.

What meens "Extended Properties"?

It sounds like a configuration problem with the PostgreSQL driver. Unfortunately all drivers have different requirements. You will need to contact Postgres for information on the proper connection string to use.
