User's Profile

Postby stevec » Wed Oct 06, 2010 6:46 am

I need to delete a folder under the User's Profile

For example

C:\Documents and Settings\XXXXXX\Local Settings\Application Data\YYY

XXXXXX is the user's profile and yyy is the folder I need to delete.

Is there a way to accomplish this?

Thanks;
Steve

I was able to do this by the following

Delay "1000"
lgaFolder/FileOptions "!C:\Documents and Settings\[UserName]\Local Settings\Application Data\YYYY" "" "3" "1"
lgaFolder/FileOptions "!C:\Documents and Settings\[UserName]\Local Settings\Apps\YYYY" "" "3" "1"
Delay "1000"
Exit "" "

the NeoBook File Remove only works for empty folders.
However if the folder is already deleted the IgaFolder/file options gives an error message, even with the error message option unchecked.

How about using FileList, looping through and deleting the files, and then deleting the folder?

Or use a plugin to delete the folder with the files in it. Check out Neodezign:

http://neodezign.net/drivesnfiles/index.html

It's only 7 bucks.

Never used this (old, unsupported) plugin ... but you can use the native NeoBook FolderExists command to check if the folder exists ... and invoke the plugin command only if it does.

The afore mentioned NeoDezign Drives-n-Files plugin also has a ndznRemoveTree command ...
DELETES Target Folder, Sub-Folders, and All Files within -- without confirmation.
* Use with CAUTION.

If you need advanced file management and Internet FTP functions ... check out NeoBookFM/FTP from the same folks who brought you NeoBook ... but if you don't need all this functionality, go with NeoDezign Drives-n-Files ... $7 buys you a ton of functions.

I believe the DOS command for this is rmdir /s /q and it will quietly delete the folder and all files. You can do a RUN command with CMD as the file and you will be able to include the attributes in there.
